Music Week and Tardebigge Summer Music Concert
Our first Tardebigge Music Week gave our children a Rainbow of Opportunities to explore new musical experiences. As a result of this week, a number of children have already asked about learning new musical instruments next term. If your child has expressed an interest, please contact the office about details of how they can learn the guitar, recorder or violin here at school.
Children began the week with a djembe drum experience from the local Palace Drum Clinic. The following day, they spent time learning to play the ukulele through the Severn Arts Music Company. Later in the week, they had the awe-inspiring showcase and demonstration in the church via a local ’orchestra’ group of whom some have strong links with our school (past students, volunteers, ex-FOTS chair, etc.). The children heard a selection of rousing songs including Sweet Caroline, which they enjoyed singing along to!
The week culminated with our first ever Tardebigge Summer Music Concert which was an opportunity for children to perform to the rest of the school. It was amazing to see such confidence in these children that they could perform so well in front of the whole church! Thank you to all the volunteers, music tutors and staff who made the week so special for the children.
